Find out when burglars are in your area

Hi everyone.
I have just launched a free community website WWW.ALERTME.IE which I think will be much more efficient than the neighbourhood watch system. It will also be very useful for resident associations and building management committees as it will give them their very own web page that will allow them to post news at a minute’s notice of general information they may wish to inform their members of. Primarily its most important feature will be its ability for residents of suburban and rural communities to warn each other of antisocial activity as it happens, As an example, when burglars are operating in an area, they usually carry out several burglaries over a period hours and even days because no one realises they are in the area until several days later, however if just one of these burglaries are notified to the website after the Garda have been informed, an email describing only the street /type of incident and if possible a general discription of suspicious persons/type, color of car etc.will be put onto that area web page and an email will be sent to everyone registered in that area advising them of an alert on the website relating to their area, (no details such as house numbers/names/car registration will be displayed) thus allowing residents to be on the alert to secure property and be vigilant. . This will then make it very difficult for suspicious persons to roam in that area without being noticeable. Used in conjunction with the Garda this web site has the potential to make our estates a no go area for burglary, car theft and general antisocial activity. In recent years, the older generation in rural communities in particular are especially vulnerable. Siblings living anywhere in the world will be able to register an email address under their parent’s area and be alerted to incidents they may wish to warn their parents about. Idealy resident associations could register and then advise their members to register. Please go to WWW.ALERTME.IE and see “ABOUT US”. For more information. I would welcome any questions or comments about the site and any advice on how to get this out there to the general public.
